Description
Computer Futures are looking for a MS SQL/Oracle Database Administrator to join a Key client based in Hampshire. You will be part of an existing team that underpin the company's core applications. The majority of the work will be making sure all production databases are secure, available and running in line with SLAs.Key responsibilities:
Fixing user-generated and automated faults
Building new databases according to strict build and security standards
Backup and recovery of databases
Capacity planning for future data growth
Performance tuning and monitoring
Providing technical support to application development teams
Implementing change-controlled data and schema updates on production databases
Patching and upgrading all databases with latest security fixes and ensure we are running at supported software versions
Direct involvement in the daily Project and Support workload of the team
Owning one or more aspects of incident resolution and root cause analysis as per agreed SLAs.
Demonstrate strong technical skills in:
SQL Server : SQL; T-SQL; Backup / Recovery; Resource Governor; Database Mirroring; Partitioning; Replication; SSIS; SSAS; SSRS; SQL Agent; SQL Profiler; Encryption; BCP; SQL Express
