Our client, a leading financial services organisation is seeking a qualified accountant with strong project accounting skills for a role as Finance Business Partner to the IT investment team.
The key responsibilities of the role are to:
Report financial performance against budget and latest forecast for a portfolio of projects.
Review Investment Appraisal Templates and Business Cases
Support a Senior Finance Business Partner (SFBP) and provide business partnering support to key stakeholders
Conduct regular reviews to challenge project costs with Supply Directorates, review forecasts with Project Managers.
Support the delivery of project cost improvement plans.
Support risk evaluation and contingency management.
Support the roll out of earned value methodology to improve project financial performance and minimise the cost of delivery/financial risk over the project life cycle.
Maintain good working relationship with finance counterparts in the Business.
The successful candidate will need to be able to work under their own initiative as well as influence decisions at a senior level. The role will involve a significant amount of transformation over the coming months, targeting both processes and reporting/MI. The successful candidate will therefore need to be willing to embrace and drive change. Candidates should have strong project accounting skills.
