Service Delivery Manager, ITIL, SC CLEARANCE

Service Delivery Manager required who ideally holds full valid SC Clearance. The Service Delivery Manager will be responsible for the maintenance and development of strategy, policy, systems and procedures, performance management, together with the efficient and effective use of resources. The Service Delivery Manager will be responsible for the day to day leadership management of the Service Delivery Team to ensure it is able to carry out its specific responsibilities and deliver ongoing demonstrable value to the organisation.

Essential Skills

  • An extensive knowledge of leadership and management methods and techniques
  • An extensive knowledge of the ITIL framework - how it is managed and how it integrates into the wider police infrastructure.
  • An in depth understanding of Force applications and how they align with organizational objectives.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety issues relevant to the post
  • Knowledge of disciplinary processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of internal financial processes.

Key Responsibilites

  • Leading the implementation and day to day practices in line with ITIL guidelines and framework.
  • Providing strong leadership and management to the Service Delivery team.
  • Manage the workload, performance, and capabilities of the Service Delivery team.
  • Coordinate both change and release management within Operations and Technology.
  • Take ownership of Major Incidents.
  • Ensure applications meet or exceed agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of third party suppliers.
  • Manage the Service Delivery budget.
  • Ownership and management of third party contracts, including performance and risk.
  • Negotiating new and/or improved third party contracts.
  • Assist the Head of Operations and Technology in formulating strategic direction for the team and unit
  • To represent the force at local, regional and national conferences.
  • Have regular contact with various people within the  and externally in order to achieve desirable outcomes.
  • Negotiate with partner agencies, suppliers and contractors in order to achieve desirable outcomes.
  • Provide reports and comprehensive working papers including making recommendations for improvements or amendments to systems within the team.
  • Plan and organise individual or team activity with an appreciation of longer term issues.
  • Ensure the team continually promote the department through engaging with operational managers wherever possible
  • Manage incidents and service requests to meet the needs of the force and make best used of the resources available
  • Escalate to problem management level incidents that have become, or are likely to become significant problems
  • Take the lead on relevant incident, configuration, availability, capacity,  continuity and release management in line with the ITIL framework.
