Responsibilities
  • Instructional design work for Technical Training organization.
  • Collaborates with functional organizations to develop course content (eg, written and electronic materials, including training courses, training proposals).
  • Responsible for instructional design, development and maintenance of leader-led, web-based, and synchronous courseware for employees whose job tasks may include, but are not limited to, system simulation, equipment installation, testing and maintenance, new technologies, and other technical functions.
  • Produce training design plans targeted to client-based performance needs to develop courses and learning interventions which integrate a variety of adult learning instructional techniques. This includes the use of MS Word and Information Mapping/Docutools software and model documents, simple electronic elements such as basic web-based lessons and system simulations developed using pre-programmed templates, and synchronous learning technologies.
  • Uses a systematic design process and support tools to select appropriate delivery method and develop various media formats such as storyboards, job aids, scripts, self-paced workbooks, leaders guides and simple on-line materials.
  • Manages vendors to ensure quality, consistency, and relevance of vendor course materials.
  • Conducts pilot sessions and facilitating alternative delivery methods.
  • Research and development of new technologies, development of standard templates, models and job aids for enterprise-wide multimedia training development.
SKILLS

Must have intermediate skills in Flash. Dreamweaver, Captivate, and Lectora skills desired. Must have expertise in leader-led training design, information mapping/docutools, and web-based training design. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical for success in this role. Project Management skills/experience required. Good MS Office skills are a must. Background in telecommunications technology is desired. Knowledge of video editing a plus.
