Description
A Manchester based company is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to provide administration and support of IT services for all staff and day-to-day management of the existing network and infrastructure.Rate: £7.75 - £9.50 per hour
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for Technical Support. This includes: - Fixing user problems associated with Microsoft Windows operating systems, Remote Desktops Services, current Microsoft Office suite.
- Install and configure hardware and software
- Manage upgrades.
- Assist the IT team whilst their working on projects to ensure that IT/communication systems and the internet are available to staff as continuously as possible.
- Manage the setup/configuration of all organisational printers, their drivers, print servers, diagnosing and troubleshooting and fixing problems, excalating problems to the required team where necessary.
- Manage IT stock and server room, and maintain IT Asset Register and IT documentation.
- Safeguard the security of data and IT systems, ensuring systems are regularly updated with anti-virus and operating system patches.
Required knowledge and experience working with the following:
-Microsoft Windows Client Operating Systems (XP, Vista, 7, 8)
- Microsoft Office Professional )
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Anti-virus (client and server)
- Printer management (servers/drivers/devices)
- Microsoft Exchange Server
- Remote desktop services
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Cisco Networking
- MSP (Microsoft Systems Professional) qualification is desirable
- A minimum of 1 year 1st/2nd line desktop/network support experience
