Senior Engineer - Civil Engineer - S278 - CAD - MX modelling - Highway Engineer - Manchester.
My client a leading construction company is looking to recruit a Senior Engineer to join their Highways & Transportation Team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Coordination and delivery of feasibility studies in relation to highway and development projects.
- Contract preparation for highway and general infrastructure projects
- Assisting with the detailed design of the Utility diversions.
- Production of reports, both internal and external.
- Production of drawings using CAD software. Drawings will be produced to various scales and levels of detail, Dependent on purpose - internal review,planning approvals, construction issue, approvals, consultations, adoption
procedures, etc. - Production of setting out information, calculations, quantities, specifications.
- Liaising with team members and external parties in connection with work development and delivery.
- MX modelling
- Highway drainage design
- Pavement Engineering
- Traffic sign and Road Marking design and scheduling
Experience Required:
- Formal, recognised academic qualification in a related discipline.
- Member of an appropriate professional institution.
- 10 years (minimum) and up-to-date experience.
- Wide and varied experience in engineering construction including time spent working for major civil engineering contractors.
- Working relationships with local authorities.
- Use of Microsoft Office applications and industry standard CAD software (AutoCAD).
- Be proficient in current versions of industry standard design software with particular proficiency in MX modelling packages.
- A thorough working knowledge of highway/traffic engineering and associated procedures.
- Current working experience of highway/ground modelling, and drainage design software.
- Up-to-date working knowledge of Highways Agency and local authority designs standards.
- Up-to-date working knowledge of the Highways Agency's Specification for Highway Works.
- A working knowledge of local authority adoption and S278 works procedures.
- Have an appropriate level of communications skills (oral and written) to be able to liaise effectively with team members and external parties, including contractors and local authorities.
- Fluent in English language (oral and written).

- Ability to manage time and activities to meet delivery requirements.
- Ability to manage work assigned to junior team members and supervise/mentor as required
