The Computer Room mission matches with the overall scope of Operations Services, with a specific focus on the management of the physical IT environment (typically a Data Centre or computer rooms and recovery sites together with all the power and cooling equipment)

Title: Full time TO/TS/OS Computer Room Engineer
Your Responsibilities:
* IT Equipment Hosting: from DC Urbanism till new equipment installation or retirement;
* Power Management: capacity plan, management of the utilization of power (ISO14001),...
* Environmental Conditioning and Alert Systems: Temperature, Humidity, Air quality, Alarming for fire, flooding, etc.
* Safety: compliance with relevant safety standards and legislation
* Physical Access Control (DC & MC only): Apply Physical Access Controls as part of the organization's Security Policy, Monitoring and control of access to facilities, Installation and maintenance of surveillance equipment
* Shipping and Receiving of good
* Involvement in Contract Management
* Maintenance: This refers to the maintenance of equipment in the Data Centre as well as environmental conditioning system
* IT Equipment Shipping and Receiving:
Define, deploy and improve procedure for Planned/Unplanned Reception of Goods in the DC, including:
- Interfacing with Order Management;
- Load/Unload;
- Unpacking & Control;
- Labelling & storage until installation;
- Creating/Updating the CI in the CMDB (Computer Room is owner of the geographical attributes of the CI's and is accountable for maintaining the physical location of power supply, cabling, racks/backplanes, Hw CI's, located at RBU1 even if owned by another RBUx 'RBUx bubble' at RBU1);
* IT Equipment Hosting:
o Define & implement Urbanization policy when deploying new equipment (taking into account ISO14001 requirements) (together with TO/TS Architecture):
- cold and hot aisle containment design
- datacenter cabling policy
- power management
Define, deploy and improve procedure for Installation of a CI in the DC, including:
- Assembling the (standard) CI
- Configuring the (standard) CI in the JumpStart Room (initialization/Jumstart/cloning)
- Planning the installation of peripheral equipment (power, network, )
- Installing the CI in its operational environment (taking into account any 'freeze' period, planned power or airco maintenance, ), incl. cabling;
- Updating the CMDB;
- Maintaining Data Centre layout diagrams
- Providing Escort Service in case of installation by Third Parties
- Disposing of retired equipment
o Executing Proximity tasks on the IT Infrastructures & Security infrastructure on request of RBUx on equipment owned by RBUx;
o Weekly Patrol: A patrol, based on a checklist, is performed weekly (Friday afternoon) to detect and report any abnormal (rack door open, error bulbs 'on', power bulbs "off", noise, messages,...) and results in remedial actions (RfC's)
* Facilities Management:
o Maintain the map of the rooms used by TO Be (DC's, MC's but also working rooms, meeting rooms )
o Prepare, follow-up of all work orders in the rooms used by TO, incl. moves
o Select, order, install & maintain operational all technical equipment in the MC's, TO working rooms meeting rooms (Barco, Production PC's & peripheral equipment, Printers, )
o Acquire & maintain technical item pictures (for integration in OH's, )
o Responsible for maintaining Be DC's & MC's operational, also in case of BCP
o Housekeeping of DC's, MC's, Preparation Rooms,
o Maintain the Wallscreen operational (Bridge)
o SPoC for all planned Service Request for the Computer Room Teams of other RBUx
* Participates to the Configuration Management process
o Maintain the physical inventory of Be DC's & MC's (The Computer Room Team remains accountable for audits and mass updates on the attributes it maintains)
* Physical Access Control:
o Responsibility shared with Facilities Management
o Assistance in defining and maintaining Physical Access Controls as part of the organization's Security Policies;
o Maintain the list of people having access to restricted access areas, including on DRP-sites (DC, MC, JumpStart, Stock areas, ) and the type of access (escorted, autonomous, );
o Grant the access when required and validated (using the ticketing tool and approval workflow);
o Escort Service: accompanying Third Parties having to intervene in the DC, MC,
Your Profile:
* Bachelor degree (or higher) in IT, Electronics or Industrial Engineering;
* Experience in a Computer Room Management function is a plus;
* Experience in ticketing tools and CMDB tools;
* Experience in end-user informatics;
* Bilingual French/Dutch, good knowledge of technical English;
* Stress resistant;
* Sense of responsibility (End-To-End ownership of a problem, result oriented);
* Service-minded;
* Able to work in team (Monitoring Team) and with other teams (Net, System Engineer, Facilities Management) but also in autonomy;
* Able to work in an international context (multicultural aspects)
* Flexible (evolving business and technical environments, moving priorities); Adaptability to different production environment
