About the Company/Position:
Working in a highly specialised Virtualisation team for a Cloud Provider, we are seeking a Senior Engineer to help manage multiple enterprise level VMware Server Farm builds across various Data Centres. Working with other technology teams, you will support the VMware systems on a number of different platforms and work on all Virtualisation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Working as a technical lead during deployment and on-going management of multiple enterprise level VMware Server Farm builds across the Data Centres
- Assist with detailed design, implementation and senior operational tasks for VMware on Intel Platform
- Work with problem and change tools
- conducting multiple server consolidation assessment and implementing physical to virtual migration solution based on VMware
- Disaster Recovery of VMware hosted server farms
- After hours on call support on a rostered basis 1 week in every 4
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated support of VMware in a development and production environment
- Strong background with virtual server concepts on Vmware
- Strong understanding of all Wintel technologies
- Confident with most aspects of operating system administration, hardware, configuration, system installation and configuration
- Vmware Certification/accreditation - VCP
- Must be a self starter who can work with minimum supervision.
- A flexible and team focused attitude
- NV1 Clearance is highly preferred
