Our Central Government Client, based in Reading, currently require a Media Relations Manager for a 12 month maternity cover contract. The daily rate is £.

This is a hands-on role and requires experience of selling-in stories proactively.

PURPOSE

To develop and deliver pro-active media activity utilising PR opportunities and placed features, in the widest range of media outlets, covering all Client activities, in support of the agency's five year plan.

KEY TASKS

- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Stakeholder's external communications (PR) team and planners
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with PR teams in other relevant extended network bodies, capitalising on joint PR activity
- Support the Press Officer in planning, handling and delivering Client press and media activity,
- Identify, create, write and deliver feature (media and web) articles to support campaign activities to change customer behaviours and perceptions of the Agency.
- Identify and capitalise on PR opportunities in support of campaigns, the agency's five year plan and corporate activities.
- Produce a forward plan of potential feature articles
- Work with the press officer to create and maintain the media forward look
- Ensure that relationships with subject matter experts are developed and maintained
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the communications strategy.

Working Relationships/Reporting to:

Accountable to Head of Media.
Working with all other corporate communications colleagues, subject matter experts across the agency, external relations colleagues and extended network communication colleagues.
