Description
The client is an International Renewable Energy organisation, which is currently focussing on their offshore European Wind Farm developments. They require a Quality Control Inspector/Engineer to take over the inspections of the structural production engineering.The Quality Control Inspector will conduct inspections of incoming foundation components, follow up and update of punch lists originated at earlier production stages; and ensure inspection documentation components from Supplier to the wind farm is handed-over.
Within this role, the Inspector/Engineer will interface with Foundation Package Team, QC Inspectors/ Site Reps, and Foundation contractor representatives.
The work schedule with this role will comprise of day and night shift-work. The Inspector/Engineer will require work on weekends, holidays and night depending on requirements of offshore operations which may change at short notice.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct incoming goods inspections with Contractor, identify necessary repair works
2. Trace repair works carried out, keep documentation updated
3. Review Contractor`s Documentation against checklists
4. Conduct hand-over inspections with Contractor, Release foundations for load-out/ offshore installation and prepare the necessary documentation
5. Prepare/process all necessary documentation for Taking-Over, extract claim relevant information and pass on to Contract Manager
6. Maintain close contact with Foundation and Logistic packages to identify and mitigate problems as soon as possible
Experience & Requirements
* Language skills: fluent English and German
* Proven experience with contractual Taking-Over procedures and punch list management of heavy steel works/ offshore foundations.
* Ideally familiar with operations in ports/ maritime environments. Good understanding of quality management processes and documentation requirements.
* Project experience: experience with taking-over processes, punch list management, warranty issues
* Professional skills: Management of contractual Taking-over, snagging, defect liability
* Technical product knowledge: Steel Works, Coating
* Knowledge about Quality: Standard QA processes
* Commercial skills: General awareness of commercial impacts of contractual issues
* Knowledge of contract law: Taking Over processes, warranty/liability issues
* IT tools and methods: MS-Office, Document Management systems
* Negotiation Skills: people skills for good cooperation with contractor
* Project Management: general awareness of dependencies/restraints in PM
