Core Java Developer - Commodities Trading

Salary: Competitive

A large, highly prestigious global investment bank are seeking a core Java (J2SE) Developer to join their Commodities trading Front office Technology team.

You'll have the opportunity to work in a global team, using modern methodologies and be involved in a highly collaborative technology division - covering a wide range of commodities; including oil, power, gas etc.

You will be responsible for developing technical solutions and applications for traders throughout the major commodities trading hubs of the world. You will have the opportunity to work on a multitude of projects, including expansion into new markets and products, through the full software development lifecycle, managing requirements gathering, design, development through to support.

Integration with other systems will form a key part of this role, for instance, ensuring the front-office systems conform to standard interfaces for the downstream confirmations and settlements systems. You should be motivated by delivering technical solutions in a business facing environment, having a strategic outlook on why these solutions are implemented for the benefit of the business. You will be a highly analytical communicator, adept at evaluating code and development methodologies and interact with users on a daily basis.

To qualify for this position you should have:

- Around 2-6 year's experience in Java Developing - you must have gained an excellent understanding of Core Java through this

- Good knowledge of O.O principles.

- Experience in Banking or Commodities

- Knowledge of working the full project life-cycle

- Have a technology focused degree
