Senior Oracle DBA (Weblogic, RMAN, Shell, PERL, SQL, Cognos, ODI, Crystal Reports, BIRT)
Axica Recruitment is currently looking for a Senior Oracle DBA to join a major Oil/Gas client in the Calgary area.
My client is truly a market leader in the Oil/Gas industry employing over 2,000 people globally and with a market capitalisation in the multiple billions of dollars.
Due to growth into new markets and a drive to develop the efficiency of the database support provided, the need for an additional Senior Oracle DBA has arisen to join the existing team in the Calgary office.
The Role
Reporting to the Database Team Lead the Senior Oracle DBA will be responsible for managing the day-to-day Oracle administrative tasks. The successful candidate will be able to analyze, troubleshoot, develop solutions and then report on and implement changes working with and on a team of IT professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create packages, indexes, views, procedures and triggers
- Install, maintain and upgrade databases
- Troubleshoot performance issues, optimize SQL statements and automate jobs
- Support, monitor and maintain Oracle WebLogic Application Container and Portal
- Manage the Oracle Grid Control, Active Workload Repository and tuning and diagnostics
- Responsible for backups using RMAN catalogue, Tivoli Storage Manager and Data Protection
- Script writing experience with Shell, and preferred exposure to PERL scripts
Qualifications
- 8+ years relevant Oracle DBA experience
- Skilled in data cleansing and manipulation of data in multiple formats.
- Generation of reports using Cognos Report Studio, Crystal Reports and BIRT
- Experience with Oracle Data Integrator preferred
- Team player willing to share experiences and mentor others
- Ability to multitask and successfully work towards multiple deadlines
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work structures
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Successful candidate will be eager to adapt to new technologies and take on new challenges
