We’re a leading travel lifestyle brand, providing highly engaging, content rich user experience across multiple platforms and devices. We take our users beyond their everyday destinations, making the unfamiliar familiar, whether it’s around the world or around the block. We’re looking for an onsite Sr. Front-end Developer contractor for our Travel Channel web properties.

Responsibilities:

  • You would collaborate with back-end developers to build HTML web page templates, using CSS and Javascript frameworks & libraries
  • Implement and support through release cycle our highly visible, user facing features on Travel Channel website.
  • Define and Implement industry standard best practices for our front-end code.
  • Work within project team to deliver high quality front-end code in an agile/scrum environment.

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in web related technologies like CSS grid frameworks, HTML/HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery.
  • Knowledge of CDNs
  • Experience in Web performance measurement tools and web performance best practices
  • Knowledge of web security best practices, such as cross-site scripting
  • Experience building user-facing experiences
  • Experience implementing analytics such as Google Analytics, Omniture, or equivalent
  • Experience with ad-driven web site development and ad standards
  • Experience building cross-browser compatible user experiences

Educational and Experience Requirements: Bachelors degree in a directly related field or equivalent experience and 5-7 years experience architecting and implementing mission critical web solutions that are scalable, extensible and maintainable.  Requires experience in launching interactive web sites/applications as a key member of a development team. Must be willing to work onsite full-time.
