Responsibilities
  • Archives systems and/or data into a virtual environment, and all the associated documentation.
  • Communicates the archive process to the business owners and technical subject matter experts of the system.
  • Analyzes the system and data scheduled for archiving.
  • Defines the specific archive process that is going to be followed.
  • Analyzes interoperability of all the components of a system and its dependencies to provide recommendations on the best path to virtualize into an isolated environment.
  • Analyzes the Data and migration process.
  • Determines data and/or databases required for archiving and develop a migration process.
  • Collaborates with the business owners and technical subject matter experts.
  • Sets up systems required to facilitate the archiving and viewing and presenting data.
  • Determines how to configure the archived system to work in an isolated virtual environment.
  • Performs the entire virtualization process, and all the associated documentation.
  • Adheres to all procedures and new development of documentation.
  • Configures computer hardware, physical and virtual.
  • Configures interoperability between applications, databases and client software.
  • Installs and configures enterprise level software.
  • Installs and Configures database.
  • Migration of databases.
  • Troubleshoots computer and software issues.
  • Follows Standard Operation Procedures.
  • Executes test scripts.
  • Reviews/updates all documentation.
  • Develops and writes procedural protocols and test scripts.
  • Verification of migration of data over LAN/WAN.
  • Recommends improvement to the existing archive procedures.
  • Develops and writes summary of activities.
  • Communicates to various levels of technical skill sets in an effective manner.
  • Communicates across all levels of staff and management.
  • Works independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Utilizes tools to migrate to a virtual environment.
  • Administers virtual environments.
  • Accurately tracks and reports project hours.
  • Works with GMP and validated systems.
  • Complies with corporate processes.

SKILLS

REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; Experience configuring & troubleshooting the interoperability between applications, databases and client software; Understanding of interdependency of systems (ie Application, Database, Web, File Servers and client systems); Strong organization skills; Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of staff and management; Working knowledge of virtual environments; Detail oriented; Excellent interpersonal skills; Understanding of DNS and TCP/IP; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; International travel may be required (estimated travel is 1-3 times a year); Must have valid passport; Solid troubleshooting and problem solving skills; Expertise in the use and administration of Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, 2003, 2008 Servers experience with Virtual environments; Experience with installing, configuring databases (Oracle, SQL); Importing of database into a new environment; Determining how to maneuver application that you may not be familiar with. Must have experience with data warehousing, as well as excellent analytical skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience setting up and configuring computer hardware; DBA; Understanding of system clustering; Understanding of Active Directory & authentication technologies; A+ Certification; Experience with different virtualization tools, such as: Platespin Migrate, VMware Converter and/or Acronis Backup and Recovery; Experience in the pharmaceutical industry; Experience with GMP systems; Experience working with Solaris, Linux; Experience working with AS400.Must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
