We're looking for someone who revels in creating a great user experience. Someone who can take a rough product description, map out how it should work, design a clean, intuitive interface and give it polish and style. The job is contract to start, but will lead to a full time staff position for the right candidate. Let's get to know each other a bit before we both commit.

Just getting started, and making it happen

You:

Bachelor's in graphic design or user interface design or equivalent experience

Three or more years of experience in a professional interactive design capacity

Understanding and love for user-centered design and clean, beautiful interfaces

Ability to think broadly enough to define and lead the design direction for the company, while also being willing and able to do all of your own production work

Experience with using user research and testing to drive design decisions, while understanding that sometimes it's better just to take a chance

Ability to come up with multiple design solutions for the same problem to allow for testing, and the willingness to iterate over time

Ability to translate complex concepts into simple interfaces

Skills in Photoshop and Illustrator (extra points for other layout and design tools and HTML/CSS chops)

Great sense of type and color

Great attention to detail (pixel perfect), a good eye for aesthetics, and a passion for incorporating new and innovative technologies

Good general understanding of web and mobile platforms and experience producing designs and assets for them

Familiarity with icon creation and icon systems

Excellent communication skills and efficient time management

Ability to collaborate directly in the Agile method with developers to come up with best-possible solutions.

Excitement and enthusiasm to forge a new path and design something that's never before been built, while leveraging what already has.

Willingness to make mistakes (quickly!) and learn from them

A natural collaborator, used to developing UX designs as a part of a team, with multiple stakeholders

Easy going, positive nature, a good sense of humor and enjoy working from home.
