We are looking for a penetration tester who is Crest registered and has decent knowledge of the below skills.
The Role
The penetration tester will exercise areas of network functionality on the STB to detect and report defects which impact security. Additionally the tester is to contribute to the design and implementation of automated security test systems.
Overview of Function
The network security test team are responsible for giving confidence in the security of the STB platform, by identifying defences against malicious attack through active penetration test.
Essential skills:
The following skills are considered a prerequisite for the role.
Expert understanding of and ability to use tools eg netcat, hping, gdb, etc.
Expert knowledge and understanding of Linux, IP and reverse engineering;
Good knowledge of at least one Unix variant (preferably Debian) and at least one Windows version;
Expert knowledge of IP Networking, network hardware, forensic networking analysis and manipulation tools, strong grasp of TCP & multicast protocol behaviour.
Maintain and document bash Shell Scripting, ASM (preferably MIPS), Python a plus.
Passed Crest Registered Tester examination or equivalent;
Proactive experience using pen testing tools;
Ability to build up own tools and scripts with documentation;
Expert knowledge and understanding of application testing, vulnerability testing and tools and methodology;
Expert understanding of the potential impact of the tools on the system;
