Position: Senior Engineer Signatures
Job type: Contract (4 Months Initially)

Location: (Glasgow easily commutable from Edinburgh, Fife, Dunfermline and with excellent access from Central Scotland)
Salary: £40 per hour LTD negotiable
Outsource UK Ltd are actively seeking to recruit a Senior Engineer Signatures for a contract role on behalf of a client.

The Job:
The Senior Engineer Signatures will be required to support the development of a naval ship combat system through the engineering design phase under the guidance of the team leader. The work will include development of signature requirements and acceptance, analytical modelling, signature prediction studies, and signature reduction techniques. This includes, RCS, IR and underwater EM signatures.
Qualifications:
Formal degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience eg a mechanical or Systems Engineering degree

Key Technical Skills
The successful Senior Engineer Signatures candidate will require an understanding of the physical processes which determine Radar Cross Section, Infrared, Electromagnetic and Target Echo Strength signatures. The role holder will be required to carry out analyses in these areas, interpret the results and integrate appropriate features into the whole ship design. Knowledge of signature reduction techniques applied to current generation surface ship programmes would be beneficial. The role holder will also participate in costing activities in these areas.The role holder will be required to have good report writing and presentational skills
Top 4 Major Tasks and Activities:
To carry out signature modelling and prediction activities as required by the team leader.
To liaise with design teams - naval architecture, structures, outfitting, combat systems, power and propulsion, and electrical - to ensure that signature requirements are supported and met as required by the team leader.
To identify, assess and cost signature reduction techniques to achieve the signature requirement, as required by the team leader.
To support requirement and operational analysis activities as required by the team leader.
