Mainframe Developer - Dubai - ASAP start date
SquareOne are currently recruiting for an experienced Mainframe Developer to be based in Dubai for a long term contract.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within an investment banking environment.
The successful candidate MUST be fluent in both English and Arabic (oral and written) and be available to start at very short notice.
This is a long term piece of work that requires and someone who would be committed to staying in Dubai for a long period of time.
Job Description - Skills/Competencies: (3-5 years' experience)
- Good verbal and non-verbal proficiency in Arabic Language. Able to translate Arabic language to English effectively. Able to speak English fluently.
- Good Mainframe development and support skills. Experience in Cobol, DB2, JCL is required.
- Possess good exposure in problem management and incident management.
- Should be able to support all Incidents, Defects, application support, environment support and environment readiness check.
- Need to be self-driven and have a problem solving aptitude.
- The candidate is expected to be enthusiastic and a quick-learner as this is a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to work with minimum of supervision and deliver work on target.
- Experience in banking or cards domain preferred.
- MF Resource utilization and accounting - Understanding utilization of CPU, DASD, TAPES, IO, software licenses MIPS and MSU Introduction to capacity planning
- Mainframe App Design and Architecture - Technical Architecture with basic knowledge of tools and frameworks used in architecture development
- KAP and Portfolio Analysis - Lifecycle, methodologies, activities, deliverables - Tools used: Case study. Concepts of portfolio analysis - Tools used: Case study
- Cobol - Basic Knowledge of Cobol. Basic Syntax Language, Constructs Error handling
- Knowledge of application development by using Cobol - Advanced Concepts Compiler, Options Subprograms Routines Tables Array & Indexing debug
- Abend-AID Application program development experience
