Senior Environmental Management Specialist

One of the world`s largest pharmaceutical and Biotechnology organisations requires a Senior Environmental Specialist with Dutch and English language skills to work at their large manufacturing facility in Southern Holland. This position is initially for a 2 month period however there is the potential for extension.

Working as part of the EHS team, the Senior Environmental Management Specialist will be responsible for guiding the revision of Environmental Management process surrounding environmental permits and applications.

Ideally this is a full time role however our client is prepared to consider part time (4 days per week).

Job description

The Specialist contributes to the environmental compliance strategy under the direction of the Associate Director S&E. As part of the role you will be responsible for maintaining up to date environmental licenses and permits, which includes:

-Preparing environmental applications, including environmental reporting (Wabo, Waterwet, CO2/NOx etc).
-Checking deployment permit and other environmental requirements.
-Supporting EHS Management system including documents.
-Preparing Standard Operating Procedures as part of EHS Management System.
-Investigating Environmental Incidents.
-Analysing data and documents (various departmental units) in order to cover requirements.

Job requirements

-Bachelor`s/ Master`s Degree in Environmental Sciences.
-Background in related technical discipline, e.g Chemistry, Chemical Engineering is preferred.
-Extensive experience with environmental licenses, risk calculations, environmental engineering and implementation.
-Experience in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry is desirable however experience in a similar role in a related industry will also be considered.
-Strong project management skills,
-Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, ability to work transparently and with a sense of urgency across various businesses and functions.
-Result oriented, timely deliver on objectives within budgetary limits.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English.
