Based in Berkshire, our client is currently seeking a Contract Firmware Field Engineer to help with integration and support on customer sites. The position requires a significant amount of travelling overseas (40%) so applicants must be willing and able to travel when required. The role will require taking hardware and software onsite with a customer to integrate it, and show it working correctly within their system.
Key requirements:
Proven background bringing up prototype hardware and integrating drivers with existing and third-party code
Linux and/or Driver Architecture, and understand how open source code is managed.
Device driver development e.g. working and debugging kernel-side under Linux (primarily) or Windows.
Comfortable exploring, debugging, and reporting on hardware issues (such as interrupt processing, GPIO, memory management)
Must have proven C/C++ skills
Needs to be able to communicate effectively to customers and UK-based support team
An understanding of Linux ALSA and ASoC highly advantageous.
Additional foreign language would be beneficial.
