Description
Senior Digital Design Engineer opportunity with a leading semiconductor organisation based in The Netherlands on a contract basis. The Senior Digital Design Engineer will work within the business Line Power and Lighting playing a key role in the design, evaluation and validation phases, supporting and advising the development team and third parties with respect to the development of ICs.Position Overview:
Each Integrated Circuit (IC) development will have a team of design engineers assigned. The Design Engineer will be specialised on one of the competencies of analogue design, digital design or mixed signal design.
The Senior Digital Design Engineer is responsible for:
Maintaining and extending digital knowledge
* Keep advanced level in digital/mixed signal IC design and power electronics
* Digital HW/SW co-design, timing & control expert
* Able to make the digital block specification from the system specification
* Has advanced knowledge on design methodologies and IC technologies
* Contributes actively in design reviews
* Has knowledge in the area of the other team disciplines
* Write internal publications
* Write patent proposals
* To take part in internal and external knowledge networks
Maintaining and extending system knowledge of:
* Converter topologies
* FPGA prototyping
* System simulation and verification techniques
* Literature / competitor / patent investigations
IC validation and characterisation:
* Defines, performs, interprets and presents evaluation/characterisation according to the evaluation plan (aligned with application engineering and test engineering)
* Supports test engineering with setting up industrial test method
* Supports quality engineering with life test investigation
Customer Design-in Support:
* Provides support to application engineering and marketing for design-ins
* Supports test and Q&R engineering in analyzing customer returns
Tooling and Flows:
* Knowledge of OSRP (business creation) process
* Advanced level of the digital-on-top / mixed signal design flow
* Knowledge of the relevant computer tools
Project Management:
* Defines and reviews planning of digital designs
* Reports design- and planning issues to the project leader
* Coaches digital design engineers and practical trainees
* Stimulates re-use of building blocks for efficiency reasons
Communication:
* Stimulates to a co-operative and productive interaction in team working * situations (team player and team builder)
* Communicates with clarity, structure and conciseness in both one to one and group situations
* Is a midpoint in technical discussions. Has a clear, well-balanced opinion
* Is known for his technical expertise inside the product line
