OSS Developer
A large Multinational Telecommunication company is looking for a Senior OSS Developer, who would join a development and integration team, currently integrating a group of third party OSS applications such as IBM Netcool, IBM TNPM, IBM ITNM, IBM SCO/TSAM, ITCM, HP Service Management and enPortal. The vacancy is in a well-established Customer Engineering Organisation, currently working on a large number of system development and integration projects.
We are specifically looking for product expertise across IBM Tivoli, IBM TNPM, IBM TNCM and IBM SCO, HP SM9 and enPortal
Australian Citizenship combined with Defence Clearance is Essential.
Key accountabilities
Deliver outcomes for Client SWI through quality contributions to Development and Testing of OSS software as per Software Development Process.
Design & Development on Java/J2EE, Rest/SOAP Webservices, PL/SQL and other configuration and programming languages including producing relevant specifications
Configuration and Customisation of 3rd party products
Produce System Test Specifications, Performance & Capacity Test Specifications, Test Plans, and other documentation as per the Client's Software Development Process for SWI projects.
Support execution of System Integration Tests, Performance Test, and Capacity Tests according to pre-written specifications
Reporting results to the technical development leader/test team leader
Following up unexpected behaviors including characterizing issues and raising incident reports.
Working flexibly within this environment to ensure team objectives are met.
Assist the Solutions Architecture team with estimates for new work, analysis and feasibility of proposed solutions.
Contribute towards the Client's continuous software development process improvement activities.
Selection criteria:
- 2 to 5 years of development and testing experience in OSS Integration and Delivery
Mandatory technical skills Strong proven experience in Java/J2EE, Scripting, Webservices with a deep understanding of the software development process.
Confident ability to use of Software Test and Development Tools (such as Rational Test Manager, HP Quality Centre, Rational Rose, Eclipse, Defect Tracking Tools, Configuration Management Tools)
Prior experience in integration of solutions based on 3rd party products
Strong proven experience in Oracle/DB2 DB integration including PL/SQL, JDBC
Knowledge and/or experience across the following tools/system technologies: IBM Netcool, IBM TNPM, IBM ITNM, IBM ITM, HP Service Management, enPortal, IBM NCM, Webspere
Preferred technical & other skills
OSS Development & Integration background in fulfilment/configuration management and performance management domains.
Clearcase configuration management
Customer interfacing and communication skills
Experience in report writing, familiarity with MS Office suite including MS Project
