Description

Oversee the planning, management, and execution of campus web site implementations, and ongoing management of existing projects.

Design, develop, and/or enhance new and existing web sites and technical applications for the university's public web site and internal web projects.

Conceptualize and code engaging user experiences for online and e-blast templates, and integrates with information technology services (its) for technical upgrades, technical training, new/improved functionality, and technical support as needed.

Collaborate with graphic designers and photographers to create and maintain visual content and design of web presence and ensure consistent visual branding across all online platforms.

Ensure web design accessibility to meet compliance standards.

Explore options and makes recommendations for ways to leverage new online technologies and mobile-first redesign.

Optimize for usability and browser/device compatibility.

Perform usability studies to assure effective and efficient communication processes for students, parents, faculty and staff via a variety of web capabilities.

A bachelor's degree in information management systems, computer science, or related field and proven experience and/or knowledge with the following technologies and tools.

Must have strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and a thorough understanding of content management systems; experience with SQL server or MySQL is necessary.

Knowledge of web technologies, Visual Basic, PHP, XML, Javascript.

Knowledge or experience with .net is a must.

Experience with IIS, Apache, PHP, Wordpress, and EKTRON CMS a plus.

Ability to work in a team and independently.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Logical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills are necessary.

Ability to interact with and communicate effectively to internal contacts when discussing, planning and troubleshooting web projects.

Manage projects independently and efficiently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously with constant interruption, work independently with little supervision, maintain strict confidentiality, work under deadline pressure, and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.

Must have the ability to work with non-technical team members to understand requirements and collaboratively design web sites that apply the latest technologies to create an outstanding user experience.

Must be a highly motivated, creative, and self-directed individual.

Bachelor's degree and 2 years' experience in automated information or communication system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing; or equivalency.
