Senior Solution Architect Wanted!Purpose
The Architect is expected to analyse and produce the appropriate architecture artefacts to facilitate the successful commissioning of the new solutions. The architecture artefacts produced by the Architect will make up the bulk of the definition of the solution capabilities and therefore directly influence and impact the value generated by the initiatives for the Customers.
Knowledge, skills and experience
Basic knowledge Formal education required.
Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or Business and systems development, and/or IS Architecture experience Including (estimate 7+ years) technical leadership experience in a complex IT environment (estimate 5 years).
Experience performing Application Architect duties (estimate 5 Years)
Experience performing End to End Solution Design Architect duties (estimate 5 Years) TOGAF 9.1 certification desirable
Skills
Strong ability to develop, document, and communicate application architecture models in tools such as Visio.
Demonstrated ability to create, deliver and implement solution architectures from inception.
Demonstrated ability to apply and direct others on process, information and technology re-engineering. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work with all stakeholders across the organisation. Demonstrated ability to explore complex business and technology issues and formulate and implement strategies and initiatives to achieve agreed business outcomes.
Excellent interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders across an organisation, able to effectively liaise with suppliers and technical specialists.
Proven ability to communicate complex technical problems effectively to business managers in a clear and concise way in language and concepts they can understand.
Experience and awareness of project management processes including ability to prioritise business requirements and apply sound risk assessment and management techniques, knowledge of tools and ability to prepare sound project plans with tasks, timescales and milestones
Demonstrated ability to prioritise business initiatives, based on sound risk assessment techniques and to be able to champion initiatives at all levels within the organisation
Strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to abstract and see patterns, and the ability to generate and evaluate multiple alternatives as a part of complex decision-making process
Mandatory Experience
Proven and detailed knowledge of Application Development concepts and methodologies and strong understanding of the entire SDLC.
Proven experience performing Senior Solution Architect duties (estimate 5 Years),
Proven experience (5+ year's ) across a range of technologies and contemporary architecture techniques, specifically including knowledge of Java development, Web Services, Web Standards, and other application integration tools and practices
