Principal Safety Systems Engineer - Dorset - Excellent salaries and fantastic benefits includedAn excellent opportunity is available for a Principal Safety Systems Engineer to join a leading electronics company within the nuclear control systems department.
The business has been very successful in winning a number of new bids and thus has a lot of new exciting work to get started on. They are on a huge growth curve as a business and due to this growth they are looking to bring a principal engineer to design, lead, and strategically ensure they continue to be world leaders in their field.
As the Principal Safety Systems Engineer your key activities are:
- Proactively develop and improve safety systems design and systems engineering processes used within the Nuclear Control Systems business as a whole
- Lead project systems teams within the business unit
- Safety systems technical authority in the business area
- Review and verification of technical reports, drawings and designs
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for safety systems engineering, represent the business as SME with customers, suppliers and other industry groups
For the Principal Safety Systems Engineer you must have a background of:
- Strong electronics (analogue and digital) background in highly regulated environment (ideally nuclear but other sectors such as oil & gas, rail, avionics would also be of interest)
- The desire to continue to progress and grow into a Chief Systems role in time
- Degree qualified within electrical or electronic engineering
- Good track record in safety system design in a safety regulated environment
- Good knowledge of safety system design in accordance with IEC 61508 or similar safety standards
- Good knowledge of systems engineering processes and standards (UML, MoDAF, IEC 15288)
