A leading General Insurer based in London City who have been through a significant period of growth are looking for a Project Accountant to join their team on a 6 month contract in order to assist with the roll out of the Oracle EBS system. Working for a well-established company with a growing presence in the market, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
Reporting to the European Assistant Financial Controller this will be a project based role where you will be a key member of the finance team responsible for ensuring the system is rolled out and implemented efficiently. You will be involved in the general ledger, accounts payable and fixed asset implementation of the Oracle system. You will be involved in 3 main areas of the project: extracting data from the system and mapping it onto Oracle; data migration; testing of the system
On a daily basis you will take responsibility for:
*Ensure reconciliation checklists and control sheets are maintained by Finance to support sign off
*Identifying gaps and inconsistencies in the financial data and working with the project team to resolve these and reconcile accordingly.
*Assist with the enrichment and cleansing of financial data as required.
*Assist with the population of RI templates to facilitate loading of opening balances into the new finance environment
*Undertake process walk through's supporting system implementation to ensure documentation is complete and fit-for-purpose (particularly for non-technical transactions)
*Assist in preparation of training materials and provide hands-on training to members of the Finance team
*Other ad-hoc project duties as required.
In order to be considered you must have previous experience using the Oracle system and will have been involved in the implementation, roll out or project based relating to the Oracle system. A finance based background or experience sitting within and working with a finance team will be advantageous if not essential. Ability to utilise v lookups and pivot tables in excel is a must. You will be liaising with non-finance leads extensively so excellent communication skills are key. Any knowledge of the Insurance industry is advantageous. Ideally you will be on short notice or immediately available.
