We have a fantastic opportunity to work for a large Utilities client of ours based in Nottinghamshire as a Management Accountant on a 3 month contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing first class business information and financial reporting as well as the integrity business plans for the site.

Purpose:
- Lead on the provision of management information to control costs for the site
- Provide expertise on financial processes to site managers, team leaders, budget holders and all staff/contractors on-site.
- Manage the provision of a complete finance service for the budget holders.
- Adhere to common finance policies, processes, systems and procedures as defined for the business

Main responsibilities:
The postholder's responsibilities include:

- Provides expertise on financial processes to plant managers/supervisors, their budget holders and all staff/contractors on site.
- Provide direction, professional advice and support to the team on all financial matters relating to the operation and maintenance of the site.
- To provide the necessary leadership to ensure that the critical success factors are understood by the site team.
- To capture financial risks and opportunities and have input into their resolution.
- To understand the key cost drivers for the site to ensure finances are kept within budget and forecasts are delivered.
- To manage financial controls on site in line with internal policy and external regulation and brief the site management team on emergent issues.
- To co-ordinate the annual site business planning process to deliver robust targets and to explain key variances.
- Oversee the production of the annual financial business plan numbers.
- Manage the month end financial closure of the site's accounts.
- Manage the monthly financial reporting and foreign currency hedge forecasting.
- Identification, evaluation and communication of key risks impacting on the delivery of the site and Capital Expenditure targets together with potential solutions where appropriate.
- Manage the procurement delegated authority list.

Key skill requirements:

Essential:
- Recognised accounting qualification
- Excellent communication skills with all Stakeholders especially those with a non-finance background
- A detailed knowledge of the effective use of financial systems
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
- Ability to understand basic technical terms

Desirable:
- Knowledge of SAP
- Commercial awareness
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand power station processes
