An interesting and challenging new role has just opened up working for a, well established market leader within the Automation and process market in the East Midlands. The role is a permanent position meaning that career progression up and across the organisation will be a possibility for the right candidate company share options will be made available. My client is an international leader exporting 85% of there products.

In the role you will be expected to design tools, invent and modify current component parts. Specific stress design tasks will be delegated to yourself by the project Engineer and you will be responsible for calculations, specification, and equipment selection, trouble shooting problems and communicating progress to the Engineering team. This is a "hands on" position!

Role:

Mechanical Engineer/Designer for bespoke machinery for the plastic film converting industry and special purpose production machinery

Involvement within the company:
  • Responsibility for the design and manufacture of the above equipment from 'initial concept' to 'working machinery'
  • Expand and develop the reverse engineering of our own existing designs, with a view to improving designs and reducing cost
  • Responsibility for all facets of a project from initial brief through to production and completion
  • Oversee build process of new equipment and assist with sales and spares enquiries


Duties:
  • To be involved with every aspect of design from conceptual ideas to reverse engineering
  • Produce design proposal and concept drawings
  • Produce full machine assembly drawings, production drawings, detailed component drawings and machine layout drawings
  • Provide floor plans and technical specifications for machine installation and commissioning
  • Reverse engineer existing designs
  • To be involved with suppliers to ensure components are cost-effectively manufactured to meet design requirements.
  • To be involved with customers to ensure designs are to their requirements
  • Communicate and work with purchasing personnel, staff and directors and be able to work on their own initiative
  • To be able to work on several projects at any one time and make efficient use of time and facilities available
  • Be willing to assist in any area of the companies work should the need arise
  • Be able to work with Microsoft office based systems to produce:-
  • Parts lists
  • Bills of materials
  • Manufacturing lists
  • Build schedules
  • Produce technical documentation such as Manuals and operating procedures
  • CE documentation and Risk Assessments


Package
  • Salary Up To £40,000 Experience dependant
  • Pension TBC
  • Holiday 25 + 8 (Total 33 Days)
  • Company Share options on offer (Directorship on Offer)+ 5 - 7 service
