An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to work in our Research and Development team, helping to deliver the next and future generations of instruments and services.

The role will require the individual to design, prototype and help deploy precision electro-mechanical and hydraulic instruments according to our customers' specifications. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the design and production of parts/instruments, from submission of technical drawings to manufacturing.

Essential Qualifications/Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • Demonstrable experience in 3D cad software (SolidWorks)
  • Demonstrable experience in 2D cad software and producing drawings for manufacture
  • Capable of producing and following project / product documentation
  • Hands on, practical ability to complement academic skills
  • Ability to work in a global, fast moving team
  • Enthusiasm for leading-edge technology
  • Scientific or engineering background


Advantageous Experience
  • Previous experience in developing electro-mechanical instrumentation
  • Finite element analysis for stress/deformation
  • SolidWorks 2011 including 3D animation of parts
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate and develop working relationships with colleagues


You will be a truly excellent engineer, able to demonstrate an understanding of complex technical products and design innovative solutions to solve challenging technical problems. The position would be ideally suited to an individual with some industrial experience or a graduate of outstanding calibre. You will be hands on with a passion for learning and motivated to drive the product to customer delivery.
