Description

At WebdesignerDepot, we’ve long been known for engaging writing about all things inspiring on the Web. If it’s new, relevant, or just plain exciting we’ve been reporting it for years.

With 60,000 uniques per-day, and almost 400,000 subscribers we’re one of the premier sources of web design industry news, views and inspiration on the Web.

Now, we’re entering an exciting new phase as we aim to start guiding the direction of online design; not just reporting on, but supporting web-standards, heralding new start-ups and celebrating great design.

The professionals who will shape tomorrow’s Web are reading WebdesignerDepot today, and we want you to help craft exciting content to keep them engaged.

Who are you?

  • You eat, sleep and breathe web design.
  • You had an opinion on flat design 2 years ago, you’re already debating its successor.
  • You believe in the Web and are passionate about the direction it should take.
  • Your RSS feed is filled with sources even we haven’t heard of.
  • You write perfect English; the passive tense is understood by you and avoided.
  • Your writing is clear, concise and occasionally witty.
  • You enjoy crafting complex information into engrossing stories.

 What we don’t need

  • We don’t need you to quit your job, this is a part-time freelance position that can be held alongside other work.
  • We don’t need you to relocate, this is a telecommute opportunity and if you want to work in your pyjamas that’s up to you.
  • We don’t need you to be an established writer, just be hungry to become one.

What we can offer

  • We pay some of the most competitive rates in the industry.
  • We’ll help you develop as a writer and a thinker.
  • We’ll provide a platform from which you can exert real influence over the future direction of web design.

How to get the gig

Send us a brief email outlining one thing you’d most like to champion on the Web; be it typography, semantic code, accessibility, or something else.

Include one or two samples of your writing, or links to pieces already published online. If you have a personal blog, we’d love to see it.

Due to the demand for recent positions we're only able to contact suitable candidates.
