GIZMO Creative is a full-service internet application developer with more than 15 consecutive years in the industry. We possess a deep background in application development with expertise in e-commerce, mobile applications, content management, social networking, database development/design, marketing and hosting.
The typical GIZMO project is a 24-36 month engagement to build a custom dot-com/SaaS application for a startup. Some of our clients are self-funded, some are venture funded, and some are startup divisions within existing companies. We build on top of our own framework (OOP PHP/MySQL/REST/JavaScript) in order to deliver maximum value to our clients. We are an end-to-end developer so we are responsible for design/architecture, development, QA, and ongoing support/hosting. In short, we are the contract engineering department for our customers so they never have to build an in-house engineering team.
GIZMO has a strong reputation and some great partnerships in the payments/commerce space so a lot of our recent work has been there. We don't do any advertising and all of our engagements come through word-of-mouth referrals and trusted partners. Formed in 2003, GIZMO is based in Carmel Valley, California with a team of developers spanning all US time zones.
What you will be doing as a Mobile Developer at GIZMO:
- iOS and/or Android mobile client app development within complex custom SaaS applications.
- Native apps, responsive web apps, and/or hybrid approaches (e.g. PhoneGap).
- Requirements analysis, wireframes, and application design.
- Debugging applications in an efficient, structured approach.
- Participating in the design of server-side mobile APIs.
What you need to be a Mobile Developer at GIZMO:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of development experience in Objective-C and/or Android Java.
- Proficiency with appropriate IDEs (i.e. XCode, ADT, AppCode, Instruments, etc.).
- Solid OOP design skills.
- Extensive experience working with RESTful APIs.
