Real Staffing are looking to recruit an interim Divisional Director to take post as soon as possible to cover the Women's and Children's Division until the permanent post holder starts next year.
The role
  • To drive forward the directorate programme of improved efficiency and quality, delivering transformational change in line with Trust and Directorate objectives
  • To provide clear and consistent leadership on the delivery of a maximum 18 week wait for patients across the Trust, reducing length of stay, maximising theatre utilisation and improving bed management
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Directorate achieve its financial targets on an annual basis and maintains financial viability
  • To ensure the Directorates have a robust financial strategy and meets cost improvement plans
  • Ensure an effective and robust governance systems are in operation, in which patient safety is paramount

Essential skills
  • A proven track record of acute strategic and operational management for a minimum of 5 years with responsibility for the full range of operational and clinical services.
  • Experience of working at senior management level in large complex environment and wide experience and knowledge of the NHS
  • Educated to, as a minimum degree level, Masters level is desirable.

Desirable Skills
  • Highly developed leadership and influencing skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate and involve individuals and teams to have them understand the Trust's and your performance expectations.
  • Ability to work at a very senior level with a multi professional group of staff.
  • Demonstrable political judgement and astuteness in understanding and working with complex policy and diverse interest groups, and common sense in knowing when to brief "up the line".
  • Demonstrable expertise in clinical, service and business management functions including in the application of HR and finance to achieve outcomes in agreed time frames.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure whilst supporting and getting the most out of staff.
  • Proven strong communication skills, in particular, in building and managing interpersonal and team relationships, with strong and effective listening skills.
