Description

Our client specialise in the design and manufacture of a range of special purpose products for supply to the global defence sector, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of planned strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced, dynamic and self motivated Manufacturing Quality Assurance Manager to lead an established and successful team tasked with providing independent assessment and assurance that manufacturing and related processes are uniformly applied across all projects.

Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, the successful candidate will be tasked with the provision of technical support, insight and advice to the senior manufacturing management team on matters related to process assurance & quality and on all aspects of quality within UK manufacturing, applying quality expertise to critical business issues to support business excellence, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction and providing quality assurance assistance in support of manufacturing excellence including the development and delivery of quality awareness and other process and quality-related training.

You will provide support on all programmes to achieve cost, time and quality targets, assessing and controlling the Product Assurance Quality processes and the resulting outputs whilst ensuring the in house Business Management System is correctly tailored to and implemented in production programmes and providing the appropriate level of support to improve the efficiency of processes used.

Additionally you will ensure the deployment of the Non-conformance Management System where appropriate and will maintain strong links with Quality Assurance colleagues across the organisation to enable the dissemination and achievement of Quality Objectives whilst interfacing with Customer representatives and external Quality System assessment representatives, so excellent communication skills at all levels are essential in this role.

With proven man management skills and realistically qualified to at least HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline, you will demonstrate solid experience of working within a light engineering/industrial background (with electrical engineering exposure proving distinctly advantageous) and at least 5 years Quality Management experience gained preferably within the defence or aerospace sectors. Quality Audit experience and extensive knowledge and experience of EN9100/AS9100 is essential for the role, as is flexibility to travel throughout the UK and internationally when required.
