An asset management firm is looking for an Application Development Managers to run a Web Services team in a Java J2EE environment. The role will focus on the new initiatives among multiple business lines and focus around Greenfield development. The client is looking for a combination of cutting edge technical ability and strong management skills. This is a full-time position located in downtown Chicago.The immediate and future purpose of this team will focus around new initiatives. Experience identifying and implementing new technologies that replace legacy systems will be essential for a successful Application Development Manager.
As the nature of this firm involves financial serivces, previous financial experience, specifaclly in a web-based-environment, is required.
Other responsibilities include:
- Managing more than 20 technical full-time and contract employees
- Working closely with internal IT Managers, Business Managers
- Work closely with outside vendors and clientele
- Manage and forecast budget needs and analysis
- Road mapping major projects and initiatives
- Performance management and career development of full time employees
Qualifications for this role include:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
- A background in Java J2EE
- Experience with Oracle Databases
- 5-7 years of experience with website applications
- 3-5 years of experience within the financial space
- Experience leading a Shared Services team
- Experience with the agile methodology
- Previous work as an architect is preferred
