Safety Manager

The service provider should:
Determine the Safety-approach
Prepare the safety plan and the approval concept
perform safety analysis (if required) and review the Sub-system Validation Report, in order to
demonstrate the (safety point of view) completeness of V&V activities in the whole subsystem.
compile the GASC (Generic Application Safety Case)
provide support towards the ISA/Nobo for certification

* The Safety manager ensures that all necessary documents (hazard analyses, TSRs, safety cases, SARs, etc.) are available on time to enable approval issues to be successfully handled.
* If necessary, the Safety manager is the intermediary between the project and the approval authority.
* The Safety manager provides support in project execution with the objective of meeting customer
requirements in terms of reliability, availability, maintainability and safety.
* As part of safety management, the Safety manager is responsible for safety approval with adherence to costs and deadlines.
* Optionally, the safety manager should also cover RAM. The RAMS manager ensures that RAMS
(Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) requirements are met and if necessary, the required type approvals and operating licenses are obtained in time.

The service provider has to assure that the persons which he allocates are:
very meticulous and precise as the developed software will be used in operational systems which may
impact the railway traffic
can work in team but also independently and autonomously
communicate in team to request the required information to perform the tasks
accurate in reviewing the input information and execution of the tasks

Using the customer requirements and the country-specific legal basis as well as the standards to be applied, the Safety manager establishes the system requirements with regard to (reliability (R),availability (A), maintainability (M) and safety (S)). These form the basis for design of the system to be supplied or the application to be developed.

The Safety manager is also responsible for aspects relating to approval issues (acquisition of approvals).

Close cooperation with configuration, development, validation, assessors and approval authorities is
imperative to ensure that work is performed efficiently.

Document and compile the GASC as per EN for SIL3 applications

Experienced in software applications which will be used in safety critical applications

Experienced with application of EN

- Debian/Ubuntu/RedHat Linux system environment
- Stratus VOS system environment
- Vmware vSphere
- Database technologie: MySQL/postgres
