Huxley Associates is pleased to be working with one of the largest suppliers to the UK's building and construction industry. This company is looking for a new Operations Manager to assist the Distribution team within the Midlands area.

Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for all Warehouse and Planning, People Management and Teamwork and Commercial and Financial Duties.

1. Set daily targets for achievement across all shifts. Plan and control weekly labour requirements for all shifts ensuring sufficient capability to meet fluctuating workload. Identify and react to potential problem areas within the shifts which may require further reporting including both financial and trend analysis.

2. Act as an ambassador for the entire operation, ensuring all Managers are controlling the operation through close KPI management and management of operational personnel.

3. Liaise with Managers to ensure operational targets are identified, that regular measurement is taken against these targets and that remedial action is taken as appropriate.

4. Develop a highly motivated team of Managers by encouraging open communication, leading task setting activity, holding regular briefing sessions and chairing minuted operational meetings as required.

5. Ensure all Health and Safety Legal requirements are met and adhered to.

6. Ensure all Managers conduct disciplinary meetings where necessary to prevent failure of an employee to reach required standards or KPI targets. Deal with disciplinary/grievance issues and matters as they arise.

7. Liaise with Suppliers / Stores / Head Office departments to ensure continued efficiency and better service levels as appropriate.

8. Actively support and communicate issues relating to operational performance including but not limited to; Health and Safety, Colleague Liason Board. Listening Groups, Guidance & Safety buddy feedback framework and deputise for the General Manager on occasions with regard to chairing, leading and ensuring documentation of the meetings as appropriate

10. Must be a forward thinker, a manager who leads by example and someone who is a people person - a 'go to manager.'

People from a home delivery industry would be advantageous working for companies such as B&Q, Screwfix, Argos or Homebase but it is not essential. You need proven cost reductions and evidence of being a manager who can motivate a workforce.

On offer for the role is a starting salary is Circa £42,000 + 15% bonus + Share Save Scheme but will be flexible dependant on the successful candidates' skills and experience.
