Description
Based in Paris I am looking for a Systems Consultant (UNIX). The client is looking for someone who is a self-starter, will be able to make recommendations to the client on systems and applications. We are looking for someone who has good knowledge of Unix, Databases, Red Hat Linux operation systems and good knowledge of Applications, ie Java, Tomcat and Apache. The client has specifically asked for a French national and speaks fluent English. You will provide services as the primary engineer assigned to customer accounts in support of their systems, infrastructure and daily administration and management, working closely with Service Managers and internal teams to ensure that all aspects of the customer's on-going system support and administration are successful. You will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of application flow diagrams, custom monitors, RTS (Return to Service) documents, and Knowledge base articles as needed. Engineer will be available for escalations 24x7 on an on-call basis
Qualified candidates MUST possess the following:
- 5+ years experience and a solid experience profile that can be demonstrated with UNIX or UNIX like operating systems using one or more of the operating systems below:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux on Intel x86-64
- Solaris 8,9, or 10 on Intel X86-64 or SPARC
- HPUX
- AIX
- FreeBSD, OpenBSD
- 5+ years large environment experience working with enterprise server platforms; preferably HP Proliant, IBM xSeries, and Sun.
- Strong working knowledge of Internet networking technologies and principals including TCP/IP and DNS/BIND.
- Proven ability to absorb, master and leverage emerging technologies.
- 3+ years creating code and Scripting in operating system shells.
- 5+ year's general UNIX system administration experience.
- 3+ years of experience in support of and administration with any of the following:
- Apache
- TomCat
- JBOSS
- PHP
- MySQL
- DNS/BIND
- Postfix
- Sendmail
