Description

My client an Investment Bank based in Brussels requires a Fixed Income Fees Officer.

Function Description:

During the reconciliation process contact with our traders and brokers is needed in case of dispute or confusion. As well as contact with Procurement based in London who are charged with negotiating fee/rate schedules, various Back Offices (Paris & London), and Middle Office P&L (Profit & Loss calculation as we charge each trader per fee).

Fee invoices are received beginning of month, and aim is that all invoices are paid at month end. Goal is to match ASAP all trades mentioned on fee invoices received by our brokers (depending of your portfolio) with trades found in our systems. It can happen that some trades exist but were incorrectly entered in our system by our traders in case we have to contact our traders and/or find back the trade in various trade systems of client. If wrong rates are applied to calculate the fee, we challenge our broker and/or are in contact with Procurement. Once an invoice is fully reconciled and there is no dispute or compliance issue, they can be paid and necessary accounting will be posted.

All this is done in the same team, so you will be the primary contact for that broker for the product you're working on, ie you will receive the invoices, raise questions if needed during reconciliation, give feedback on its status if requested, and inform them once it is paid.

To ensure above, the person will have a short intensive on-the-job training regarding reconciling (broker) fees invoices (a.o. Bonds & FX/MM products) and the necessary supporting administrative tasks (invoice repository, local payment system, reporting, ).

The project will consist of
(i) a training to become a member of the current Fixed Income Fees team for day-to-day tasks,
(ii) working for a few months (2 - 3) as a team member in this dynamic team with his/her own portfolio of brokers, and
(iii) assist the Portuguese in their training and handover of this portfolio via (again) an on-the-job training (in Brussels) as well as via mail/phone for the post-migration questions/issues.
