We are looking for a Senior User Experience Designer to join our Zappos Labs team!
Role Summary
Interested in helping to shape the future of retail? Zappos Labs is looking for an experienced user experience designer who will help bring next generation customer experiences and new business models to life.
Zappos Labs is a small and quick moving team formed in 2011 that is focused on exploring the future of Zappos. We have a passion for staying on top of new and emerging trends. We exude leanness and use research, a deep understanding of the customer, rapid design and prototyping, and data analysis to build experiments in online shopping and beyond.

You Are
Curious about retail, technology, and the world around you. You are eager to rapidly learn and share your insights with others.
Obsessed with understanding the customer, being their champion in every discussion and at every decision point.
Hyper-focused on finding the best and most innovative solutions that solve real customer problems.
Able to drive UX strategies and approaches that balance customer needs with business objectives. You never lose site of what you’re solving for.
Able to assess business requirements and are comfortable owning user stories and project requirements, prioritizing against user goals.
A lover of Post-it notes, white boards, markers, pencil, and paper seeing them as your best friends in helping you lead project worksessions and design sprints.
An expert at UCD deliverables. Personas, storyboards, site maps, flow diagrams, wireframes, mockups, and prototyping are part of your regular vocabulary.
Self-motivated and organized and able to balance multiple projects at one time.
Able and excited to mentor junior staff. You Have
At least 7 years working in the User Experience field.
A portfolio demonstrating experience in creating exceptional online experiences in desktop and mobile.
The ability to create mockups in Photoshop, as necessary. You don’t have to be a graphic designer, but some design skills are necessary.
Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
Knowledge of prototyping tools and can quickly prototype concepts.
Experience working in Lean Startup and Lean UX environments.
The Details
This is a contract-to-hire position.
Some travel to our sunny Las Vegas headquarters will be required.
