This position closes at 3:00 p.m. on Nov 21st, 2013.

This is an initial 6 month contract opportunity.

Overview

In this Security Analyst role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day support of network security operations for a corporate network/Internet as well as client support of security technologies. From a service delivery perspective, you will manage security operations ticket queue for operational incidents, tasks and requests to maintain operational excellence. Finally, there is some work focusing on service infrastructure enhancements, projects and proof of concepts.

Roles and Responsibilities

    Some of the daily responsibilities of this person include (but are not limited to):
  • Evaluate, implement and manage enterprise class security products
  • Client support of security technologies such as Firewalls, web content filters, anti-virus protection, intrusion prevention, user access controls, network access controls, security event correlation and monitoring, wireless, etc.
  • Document current and new security device/tool implementations
  • Assist in maintaining security operations documentation life cycle (ie updating processes, etc.)
  • Promote security best practices and awareness during interactions with clients (ie phishing, common threats, etc.)

Qualifications

    Required Skills:
  • 5+ years technical hands on/operational IT experience (3 to 5 of those with hands-on operational IT security experience, with preference given to enterprise class security technologies)
  • Able to troubleshoot complex technical problems
  • Proficient with TCP/IP and networking concepts
  • Working knowledge of packet analysis and network troubleshooting tools such as tcpdump, NMap, Wireshark etc.
  • Working knowledge of DNS
  • Experience with branch to branch VPNs
  • Working knowledge of SIEM technologies
  • Experience with Intrusion Prevention Systems
  • Routing protocols, BGP/EIGRP
  • Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Working knowledge of Shell and Perl Scripting
  • Industry Certifications recommended (ie. GIAC, CISSP, etc.)
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be motivated and eager to take on new tasks
