Description
My client, a leading global company based in Cork, is looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer to join their team on an initial 12 month contract.
The successful candidate will work in conjunction with other developers to design and develop tools and processes for the purpose of supporting the operation of the business.
The successful candidate will spend most of their time working on software development but will also be involved in leading projects, interfacing with customers on requirements, queries, issues and training.
Core Technical Skills/Experience:
- 5 years plus experience in a development environment working with the technologies listed below
- Strong Software application architecture skills
- Object Oriented Design
- C, C++, Objective C
- Experience debugging complex applications (eg using GDB)
- Java
- Unix
- XML and related technologies: XSLT, XPath and XQuery
- Experience working in all stages of the development life cycle, requirement gathering, design, implementation, testing and support.
- Experience leading projects and development resources
- Must have delivered large scale projects
Preferred Technical Skills/Experience:
- Cocoa
- Web Site and Web Services development technologies
- Database design and admin
- SQL query language
- Version Control System (CVS, Subversion, etc.)
- Perl Scripting
- UI Design
