Job Title: iOS Developer
Location: Toronto, ON
Employment Type: Fulltime or Contract
Salary Range: $70K - $90K
Our client (a large Canadian Communications company) has an exciting opportunity in our Toronto office for a Mobile Developer specializing in iOS development to join our team. You would be working with a team focused on developing multi-platform mobile and web applications across many of our brands.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Taking projects from conception to completion
- Analyzing requirements, writing unit tests and implementing application logic
- Attend planning sessions and aide in the requirements gathering process
- Assist in the development of technical requirements documents and timeline estimates
- Participate in regular code reviews, and help formulate and ensure adherence to both industry and Shaw best practices and guidelines
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Highly skilled iOS developer
- 3+ years production experience building iOS apps
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with proven competency in production software development
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or related field or demonstrated industry hands-on experience Solid understanding of multithreaded applications
- Strong understanding of all aspects of the iOS Provisioning Portal
- Understanding of iOS Member Center users and roles
- In depth knowledge of Xcode
- Experience deploying an iOS application to the App Store
- Experience in the following areas are a definite asset:
- Video streaming
- DRM
- Ad integration (VAST ad integration a plus)
- Metrics (Omniture a plus)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD)
- Design Patterns and Principals (KISS, DRY, YAGNI, Single Responsibility, Open/Close, Liskov Substitution, etc.)
- Experience working with public facing, high-availability, mission-critical applications
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
