Quality Assurance Manager

Hughes Mushrooms is a leading player in the mushroom industry in the UK and Ireland and a trusted supplier to many of the large multiples, operating to the highest quality standards.

I am currently recruiting for a QA Manager, who will be responsible for leading a small team of QC's and raw material inspectors. They will also work closely with the Technical Manager and assist in maintaining the QMS and third party accreditations.

The Role:

• To effectively manage the day to day QA activities throughout the site.
• Continuous improvement of existing internal and external Quality Systems.
• Maintaining procedures and documentation for all intake of raw materials and finished products.
• Management of supplier quality, specifying quality requirements and maintenance of audit schedules.
• Support and management of QA Team.
• Internal reporting of customer and supplier KPI's.
• Continuous reduction of customer complaints, ensuring follow-up actions are resolved.
• Manage onsite hygiene and contribute to the induction process of all new staff.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure the QA functions are working effectively.
• Working with the operations team to implement changes.
• Support site Technical Manager and deputizing where appropriate.

Essential for the role:

• At least 5 years, strong and proven experience, within in a FMCG.
• Working knowledge of BRC, HACCP, & Internal Auditing.
• Ability to communicate with clients on all levels and work within tight deadlines.
• Must be qualified within a food related discipline
• Possess a flexible work ethic
• Clean driving license
