Description
A leading provider of financial services to institutional investors including investment servicing, investment management and investment research and trading is looking to bring on a senior Java developer. The developer with join the Data Services Team and work mostly in core Java and Oracle. The firm is looking for a highly motivated candidate to own, create, and deliver technology solutions and support the application. This team is responsible for tracking index constituents, weights, and security prices of all major indices in the financial industry. It is a core system used by compliance, portfolio construction and performance. This role is well suited for candidates who want to combine technical/programming capabilities with finance knowledge.Key Responsibilities include:
*Support and enhance the technical infrastructure and functionality of applications.
*Working with the business to deliver key initiatives to the market data team.
*Experience with Agile SDLC, specifically iteration through problem definition and requirements.
*Production support of the applications on a rotation basis.
Qualifications:
*Strong database skills (Sybase and Oracle), 5+ years of experience
*Strong Java 6 experience (JSP, Struts), 5+ years of experience
*At least 2 years of experience with Abinitio or comparable ETL platform
*1 year of Unix Shell scripting experience (nice to have)
*Experience with Autosys a plus
*Demonstrated ability to learn new business concepts and technologies quickly
*Preferably a history working in a financial services institution
*Knowledge of Index providers and market data vendor feeds a plus
