I am currently trying to fill a position for a mechanical project engineer on a contract basis based in the North West area.
Job Purpose: To coordinate and deliver projects and to manage the Drawing office.
Sector: Recycling/materials handling
Project Engineer job duties:
* To liaise with engineers to define project specifications.
* To define project requirements, budget and project plan.
* To liaise with suppliers and contractors and arrange purchase contract.
* To manage installation on site by own staff and/or contractors.
* To control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, monitoring progress, coordinating activity and resolving issues which arise.
* To manage project cost control.
* To prepare project status reports.
* To implement and maintain engineering safety, environmental and quality standards and procedures and to ensure that projects are delivered to those standards.
* To maintain project data base.
Drawing office manager duties:
* To co-ordinate a team of CAD (2D/3D) draughtsmen to deliver designs to meet the project budget and plan.
* To implement and enforce document and drawing management systems.
* To ensure software is kept up to date.
Skills/Qualifications: Design Skills, Project Management, Mechanical Engineering qualification, Documentation Skills, Safety Management, Supervision, CAD Design,
Rate is negotiable dependent on experience.
