This clients new product development team, based in Cornwall has had recent success which means that there is now a need for a Senior Product Engineer to transfer all R&D activity in to their award winning Manufacturing plant.General responsibilities include;
- Interface with R&D, manufacturing, QA, Supply Chain and other disciplines as necessary to complete projects.
- Where necessary, perform low-level R&D activities and complete project design files.
- Identify and participate in projects aimed at cost reductions or performance improvements in existing products.
- Provide input to external complaint investigations
Education / Qualifications;
- Project management in a manufacturing, plastics moulding/extrusion or packaging development environment.
- Experience of implementing change In a regulated environment desirable.
- Graduate calibre in a suitable engineering discipline.
- Planning ability.
- Problem solving skills.
- Project Management qualities.
- Interpersonal and presentation/communication skills.
- PC literate including planning and drawing packages.
- Working knowledge of medium to high volume manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and risk management would be beneficial.
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary and multi-site teams.
- Ability to work unsupervised and act on own initiative.
- Able to travel and work outside of normal hours where required.
