Head of Cyber of Security - London- Rate £750 -£800 Per DayA large Central London public service delivery department in the UK is currently seeking a Head of Cyber Security.
As a continued movement of more services online, Cyber Security increasingly plays more of a key role. As Head of Cyber Security you will lead a team at the heart of the response to cyber attack and fraud. This is a vital job requiring a candidate of high calibre with expert knowledge and experience in cyber security technologies
The Team
The security team is a vital part of the system of countermeasures being developed to defend the company from cyber attack and fraud, following the introduction of online services such as Universal Credit (UC).
This team will enable the new online systems to operate effectively and safely. It will integrate the functions of cyber intelligence, security and anti-fraud into a single unit, creating an agreed joint threat picture to enable effective cyber security, counter cyber fraud threats and mitigate against potential cyber attacks. The team will also recommend and oversee potential cyber security and operational mitigation measures to tailor the security posture to the threat and operations picture.
The role
The post holder will be accountable for building the capability within the department, establishing and continuously improving this new service. The other key accountabilities include:
You and your team will manage the response to major cyber incidents, ensuring that counter measures are in place to enable the continuity of business operations. Working across both security and counter fraud, you will develop cyber security and cyber response capabilities, connecting into external intelligence, data sharing networks and developing intelligence sharing relationships.
The Person
For this vital role, a highly capable individual and accomplished leader with expert knowledge of relevant cyber security technologies is needed. You will need to demonstrate experience in leading complex operations at a senior level in a high-pressure environment.
You will need to be sufficiently technically literate and aware to lead staff in the exploitation and development of technologies. You will also have the ability to foster and develop influential relationships, together with experience, standing and inter-personal skills to establish a substantial credibility in the wider security and intelligence community.
