Description
SQL server DBASQL Server DBA Required for a financial organisation based in Manchester for a contract period of 6 months.
The role will require you to work on SQL databases and working with the in house database team. This role will also require you to support the team and development of existing database team, liaising with project managers to resolve any issues, making sure task all completed within agreed timescales. Ideally you must be able to effectively communicate with customers as well having the ability to relay technical information to non technical managers.
Technical Requirements:
* Experience with HP Hardware, NetApp Storage, VMWare, CommVault, SQL Sentry, SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2012, Windows 2008 R2, Windows Clustering, SSIS, and SSRS highly desired
* Experience supporting MS SQL Server in highly available & high capacity production environments
* Ability to execute MS SQL Server back-up and restore processes for point-in-time recovery
* Server configuration, database optimisation, database monitoring, database management, change control processes, and incident resolution.
* Experience deploying stored procedures, triggers, views and user-defined functions
* Experience in optimising SQL queries, creating indexes, and database tuning.
* Knowledge of FIXML data
* Experience with Enterprise and SQL Server monitoring tools
* Ability to automate and improve repetitive processes
