Senior Reservoir Engineer

Position Purpose:

To perform, coordinate and quality control all reservoir engineering activities aimed to maximise recovery from hydrocarbon accumulations with an asset area. To apply scientific principles to understand and predict dynamic reservoir performance and generate production forecasts and reserve estimates for use in upstream revenue calculation, financial and regulatory reporting. To propose drainage points and recovery processes. To identify, plan and execute data gathering activities. To perform numerical and analytic reservoir modelling, production forecasting, reserves determination, well testing, PVT and core data analysis, risk and uncertainty management, well drilling and work over planning and well and reservoir monitoring and management activities.

Typical Opex budget to $5.0m p.a., depending on size and complexity

JV/Stakeholder and Government Relations Management

Interface Management with ADM, FES, Wells, FE, SD, Economics, etc

Special Challenge:

- Have a solid in-depth knowledge of all the fundamental scientific principles underpinning hydrocarbon recovery processes. Able to recognise and apply knowledge in a variety of situations and solve problems outside area of influence.

- Able to perform independently and guide others. Able to provide innovative solutions. Able to advice on improvement areas.

- Able to define and set realistic project timelines taking into account project complexity and multi-disciplinary workflows

- Able to lead multi-dimensional and multi-disciplinary projects

- Able to report project status and results to senior management across full TECOP range. Able to liaise with regulatory authorities on discipline specific technical issues.

Experience and Qualification:

University degree in Geoscience, Petroleum Engineering or Technical discipline with solid in-depth technical competence in reservoir engineering and strong understanding of other sub-surface disciplines and 10 to 15 years of experience with proven track record. Have excellent inter-personal and communication skills and able to operate in and lead multi-disciplinary teams. Fully familiar with all reservoir engineering technical and productivity computing. Ability to work under pressure and to tight time lines. Able to manage and lead all HSSE issues.
