Next Ventures is executing a search for a End-user computing (EUC) Analyst, the client is looking to take on a consultant as soon as possible.

Duration : 6 Months

Work Location : Cheltenham, UK.

Job Description

The role is expected to carry out following function/activities as part of this job.

  • Provides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of desktop systems.
  • Analyzes requirements to ensure the system meets performance needs.
  • Ensures that all systems are working at optimal levels and offers support to application development team regarding new technologies and system requirements.
  • Maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots desktop hardware and software packages.
  • Assists with Microsoft SCCM administration.
  • Assists with desktop/laptop images including updates, patches and performance/process enhancements.
  • Has the ability to script, test and deploy automated desktop solutions.
  • Assists as needed with GPO creation and administration.
  • Provide level2/3 desktop/laptop break-fix  support
  • Responsible for writing documentation to describe existing and new environments, technologies and enhancements.
  • Assists with the testing and selection of non-server computing hardware to be used within the enterprise.
  • Assists with the design and maintenance of new images for desktops.
  • Works with outside vendors as requested to stay current on technology suitable for our environment (ie software, desktop images, and hardware).
  • Assists with writing, testing, and installing packages for software upgrades/patches.
  • Serves as a top tier desktop support.
  • Work with offshore teams

  • End User Security Configurations

Experience/Skill requirements (including products knowledge)

This section describes the applicants required experience, skills set and knowledge about various products in the functional expertise area

  • 5 years’ experience supporting Microsoft systems (NT, W2K, XP, and Windows7) in IT Infrastructure function.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems
  • Must have knowledge of PC hardware architecture
  • Must have knowledge of typical desktop applications, (ie, MS Office, virus scan, Ghost, etc.)
  • A solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and other network fundamentals
  • Must have knowledge of desktop architecture build methodologies
  • Good understanding of other IT disciplines, (ie, Telecom, Datacom, Messaging, Server operations, etc.)
  • Should have conducted functional and non-functional requirement gathering for thin client, desktop virtualization and application virtualization.
  • Technical knowledge and experience in management of large thin client, virtualised environments like Citrix environments, VMware and Microsoft.
  • Should have good understanding of Microsoft Acrive Directory, DHCP and DNS
  • Should have good understanding of user profile management and third party tools involved like Citrix user profile manager, AppSense etc.
  • Proven Customer Service skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication

Education Qualification

  • Bachelors/Master’s Degree in Engineering. Any additional education will be added advantage

Certifications

  • MCSE, MCSA
